COPPERSTATE DOUBLE GUN
The Copperstate Double Gun is a unique sporting clays shooting tournament that benefits Phoenix Art Museum. Organized by the Men’s Arts Council, the Copperstate Double Gun features a full day of challenging stations, entertainment, and the camaraderie of fellow double gun enthusiasts. To date, the Men’s Arts Council has donated more than $9 million to Phoenix Art Museum.
The Copperstate Double Gun features double barrel, break action shotguns, which may be over/under or side-by-side configurations, with or without hammers. Trophies will be awarded in the categories of over/under and side-by-side configurations for large (12 and 16 gauge) and small (20 gauge and under, including 410 bore) shotgun classes.
The tournament will challenge even the most seasoned shooter. In addition to the tournament course, the event also offers a Specialty Station. Shooters buy chances to shoot at the Specialty Station and go head-to-head against the ladies from the Xavier Hot Shots. Net proceeds being shared by the winning shooter and the Hot Shots. The Hot Shots are sponsored by Austin Potenza with May, Potenza, Baran & Gillespie, P.C.
Please note: Copperstate Double Gun does not offer guns to rent or borrow; you must bring your own shotgun, shells and safety equipment. Sharing is permitted.
The Copperstate Double Gun is on hiatus for 2024. Check back in September 2024 for possible 2025 date.
The Tatham Cup
In addition to highest individual scores, we will be awarding a trophy to the team, in any gauge class, with the highest overall score. The trophy honors the events founder, John Tatham, and will be an annual award.
